Who we are

JP Drops is a fan-run social media account that publishes news about Japan-exclusive merchandise. Contact: via direct message to @jpdrops_news on X.

Information we collect

This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking, and does not collect personal information.

YouTube API Services

JP Drops uses YouTube API Services (YouTube Data API v3) for three purposes: (1) to upload short videos that JP Drops creates to its own YouTube channel; (2) to read the view and like counts of its own channel's videos; and (3) once a day, to read public statistics (title, view and like counts) of popular public videos for a few keywords such as "gashapon", for internal trend research only. We do not collect personal information about YouTube users, we do not show YouTube data to anyone else, and we do not sell or share it.

Data storage and deletion: aggregated statistics obtained through the API are stored on the owner's computer and are automatically deleted after 30 days at most. The OAuth token for the owner's channel is stored locally and is deleted when access is revoked. To request deletion of any data, contact @jpdrops_news on X; we will delete it within 7 days.

By using or viewing our YouTube content you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. See the Google Privacy Policy for how Google handles data. Access granted to JP Drops can be revoked at any time via the Google security settings page.

Social media

When you interact with our posts on X, Threads, Bluesky, YouTube or TikTok, those platforms' own privacy policies apply. We only see the public engagement counts (views, likes, reposts) of our own posts.
